Handmade Halloween Card Using Graveyard Gate
I know we still have quite a bit of summer left, but fall will be here before you know it. Don’t wait until then because you’ll want to start thinking about a fun handmade Halloween card design for your kids, grandkids, or even to make Halloween invitations. Graveyard Gate might just be the thing for inspiring those spooky ideas! Be sure to pick it up with the Detailed Gate Thinlits Dies while you’re at it for the perfect finish to your card. You can grab them in the Graveyard Gate Bundle (wood-mount or clear-mount) and save 10%!
Here I made a card similar to the one featured in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.

I used my Stampin’ Sponges and applied a few colors to some Glossy White Cardstock to create the perfect sunset — Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Perfect Plum — and then a bit of Tuxedo Black ink sponged around the edges. All the gravestones and other images were stamped in Tuxedo Black.
I used my Big Shot and the fabulous gate die for the exquisite gate die-cut. You’ll want to be sure to have the Precision Base Plate to cut it out with and the Big Shot Die Brush (and a little bit of patience) to help release all the little pieces from the die. It’s definitely worth the little extra work! And I’m sure I’ll come up with lots of ideas to use that die for when I have more time to play with it! 🙂
