How to Make a Birthday Card for Fall
With Painted Harvest
Painted Harvest, a gorgeous new stamp set featured on Page 49 of the Holiday Catalog, has the perfect images for fall. Combine this two-step stamp set with some shades of autumn for a very striking birthday card.
I started by stamping the solid flowers in Crushed Curry on Very Vanilla card stock, and then overlaid the detail stamp in Cajun Craze — two perfect colors for fall! The centers were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and the leaves were stamped in Wild Wasabi and then Garden Green over top. The beauty of two-step stamps is you don’t have to be precise in your stamping, it still looks great any way you stamp it!
The color palette used for this handmade birthday card is shown below:
Here’s a tip: Sponge ink along the outside edges of the top focal piece. This eliminates the need to mount it onto another layer of card stock.
I also sponged the card sentiment in Garden Green ink after punching the right side using the Triple Banner Punch.
The birthday greeting came from the Rose Wonder stamp set. You can click on the thumbnail photo on the left to see another handmade card idea using the Rose Wonder stamp set.
I mounted all the layers using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then added a bit of Burlap Ribbon to the sentiment for a little texture.
