First Birthday Mini Scrapbook Album
I promised to share pictures of the mini scrapbook album I made for my great-nephew’s first birthday, so here they are! There are actually a few photos I need to get to complete it, but you’ll get the idea. And I think it was a big hit!
I used chipboard for the basic bone structure of the book, but everything else came from my Stampin’ Up! supplies.
Check out the in-progress video below which shows the basic book before I decorated the album cover or added any photos:
You may recognize the adorable paper patterns that were used to create this mini album. They’re from the Birthday Memories Designer Paper collection, which you can find on Page 189 of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog.
Be sure to check out the entire Birthday Memories Suite on Pages 68 and 69, too!
First you may be interested to know that I used my Big Shot and a couple of the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies to cut out a few images directly from the designer paper: the fox and the banner. They fit perfectly! The turtle and squirrel I just cut out using my Paper Snips.
You’ll notice some of the elements are 3D. I achieved that by using the framelits to cut out multiple layers and glued them together to build up the images. So easy!
Then there’s the beautifully detailed and coordinating stamp set images from Birthday Delivery. I stamped the banner with “It’s Your Big Day!” and used the “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the inside.

The Scalloped Tag Topper Punch was used on a few of the tags which were tucked under the inside pocket. All the tags were punched near the top using the 1/8″ Handheld Circle Punch, to which I added either some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon or Pacific Point 1/4″ Stitched-Edge Ribbon.
The “Look Who’s Turning” and number 1 on the cover came from the Number of Years stamp set, a perfect set you can use for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or any milestone celebration. The Large Numbers Framelits were used to achieve the perfect cut and complete this mini scrapbook album.
