Get More From Your Rubber Stamps – Rubber Stamping Tips

How to Get More From Your Rubber Stamps

Get More From Your Rubber Stamps - www.Stamp4Joy.comYou can get more from your rubber stamps by looking at them in different ways.  You aren’t always limited to using the images just as they are. Instead, try using only a portion of the design.

Today’s handmade card layout is a simple example of this idea.  I wanted to make a thank you card, but I didn’t want the card sentiment going across the entire front.

The greeting came from Floral Phrases (which comes in wood-mount and clear-mount), but you’ll notice I’ve only used the last portion of that image instead of the whole thing.  You can accomplish this by only inking up what you want Floral Phrases Stamp Set - www.Stamp4Joy.comwith your Stampin’ Write Markers or inking up the image and then cutting out the portion you need with your Paper Snips.  So simple!

Of course, Floral Phrases is not a new stamp set, but you may have noticed on pages 94 and 95 of the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog that we now have a whole collection built around it, the Fresh Florals Suite!  It not only includes the stamp set and the exquisite Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies, but now has coordinating Fresh Florals Designer Paper, ribbon, and bows!  Of course, the colors coordinate with the new 2017-2019 In Colors collection, which includes card stock and ink pads.

Come on over and Like Us on Facebook for more ideas how you can get more from your rubber stamps.  We have over a thousand crazy crafters sharing our love of rubber stamping.  I hope to see you there!

Make Summer Cards They Will Love With Colorful Seasons Bundle

By | July 5, 2017

Make Summer Cards With the Colorful Seasons Bundle

Make Summer Cards - www.Stamp4Joy.comIt’s so much fun to make summer cards with the Colorful Seasons Bundle, (page 147 of the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalog) but as I showed you a few days ago this collection is also great for Christmas Card Designs, too.

I can’t stress enough how much I LOVE those adirondack chairs! Aren’t they just the cutest?  And there’s so much you can do with that die, too.  I just cut off the “back” of a chair to create the little table shown here.

The gradient blue background that I used for the card sentiment is from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack, part of the same Color Theory Suite.  I stamped the saying in white craft ink and then embossed in white embossing powder so it would really stand out.  Of course, the oval was cut out with my Big Shot using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The glass of lemonade is also a stamp included in the Colorful Seasons stamp set and a framelit included in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies (both included in the Colorful Seasons Bundle), but you might have noticed they’re each facing different directions.

How did she do that?

To create a glass with the straw facing the opposite direction, I first stamped it onto a piece of plastic (being careful not to let it slip) and then stamped that onto the card stock.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to fill in where needed.)  Then I cut it out using my awesome Paper Snips.

Cool, huh?  You might have to practice a bit, but it’s fun when you know how!  You can use wax paper for this technique, too.

Lounging outside on a warm summer day sipping lemonade… sounds perfect!  Your friends probably think so, too.  Use the Colorful Seasons Bundle to make summer cards your friends are going to love!

Christmas Card Design for Christmas Card Sunday: Why You Need This Stamp Set!

By | July 2, 2017

Another Christmas card design for Christmas Card Sunday

Colorful Seasons Christmas Card Design - www.Stamp4Joy.comI used Colorful Seasons for today’s Christmas card design.  It really is an all-around, all-season stamp set.  You’ll have something for summer, fall, winter, and spring with this terrific collection.

You can pick up the stamp set together with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies in the Colorful Seasons Bundle and save 10%.  Now, that’s smart shopping! 🙂  And when you combine them with all the other coordinating items in the Color Theory Suite collection, well, then you’ve really expanded your options.

I started by first stamping the snowflakes in VersaMark ink on white card stock and then embossing in White Embossing Powder. The feathery soft background was then created by sponging Pool Party ink over the top using a Sponge Brayer.   I used a tissue to wipe off any excess ink from the snowflakes.

It’s the first time I’ve used a Sponge Brayer, and I found it to be quite effortless and easy to use and I like the results.  It’s easier to get more of an even coverage than using just a Stamping Sponge, and since I wanted all-over coverage I preferred that. As you can tell, it didn’t result in perfectly even coverage, but I really think I prefer the finish it made.  What do you think?  I then layered it onto a slightly larger piece of Whisper White card stock to create the white border, and then onto a Pool Party card base.

After stamping the card sentiment in Pool Party ink onto white card stock I cut it out using one of the circles in the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  You know how I feel about them.  Everyone should have them!  I actually feel that way about the Colorful Seasons Bundle, too.

Handmade Summer Card at the Beach - www.Stamp4Joy.comThe delicate Pool Party snowflake die-cut was created using one of the snowflake thinlit dies in the bundle and topped off with a creamy pearl.

Colorful Seasons can be used for more than just a Christmas card design. Click on the thumbnail photo on the right for another handmade card idea.

Handmade Thank You Card Idea – Make a Thank You Card

By | June 27, 2017

Daisy Delight Handmade Thank You Card Idea

Handmade Thank You Card Idea With Daisy Delight - www.Stamp4Joy.com 2Here’s a fun handmade thank you card idea featuring the Daisy Delight stamp set (which can be found on p. 127 of the new 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! catalog), the new Daisy Punch (p. 206), and the gorgeous Delightful Daisy Designer Paper collection (p. 189). You can save 10% by picking up the Daisy Delight Bundle, which includes the set of 16 stamps along with the punch.

I can never have enough thank you cards because I give them away just as fast as I can make them.  How about you?  I really like to have some extra on hand because they’re gone before I know it.  🙂

I decided to punch out three daisies to make the flower featured here, alternating the petals as I layered each one on top of the other.  The 3/4″ Circle Punch and the 1″ Circle Punch were used to create the centers.  I sponged a little Early Espresso ink along the edges before snipping all around the outside with my Paper Snips.  I curled the petals of the flower under and the edges of the insides toward the center Chocolate Chip circle, which was stamped in Early Espresso ink.

I chose to stamp Calypso Coral ink for the card sentiment, which matches the designer paper pattern beautifully.  The flag edge was created using the Banner Triple Punch on one end.

Here’s the sketch I used for this handmade card design.

Making Birthday Cards for Kids – Handmade Kids Birthday Cards

Making Birthday Cards for Kids is Easy With These Card Making Craft Supplies!

Making Birthday Cards for Kids - www.Stamp4Joy.comMaking birthday cards for kids just got super easy with the new Birthday Delivery Bundle, which includes all of these fantastic card making craft supplies:

You just can’t go wrong with this darling, dynamic bundle.  And the beauty of it is when you purchase as a bundle you save 10% over the individual prices!

Do you ever find yourself in a rush, trying to get a last-minute card made?  Don’t have time to color in the images?  Just ONE of the cool things about this bundle is the fact that the framelits match PERFECTLY some of the images on the designer paper!  How wonderful is that?

I actually cut out the little fox and flag from one of the sheets of pattern paper using my Big Shot and a couple of the framelits, then stamped the greeting on the flag in Pacific Point ink.  I popped them off the focal piece using some Stampin’ Dimensionals… too cute!

Of course, the striped patterned paper (which I cut at 3″ x 4-1/8″) is also from the Birthday Memories Designer Paper collection, and I added a bit of Lemon Lime Twist 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon to transition up to the Pacific Point Cardstock (2-3/8″ x 4-1/8″).

As always, you can find these and all the other card making craft supplies you’ll need for making birthday cards for kids in my Online Store 24/7!

Handmade Friendship Card: Crafting Forever Card Idea

By | June 11, 2017

Handmade Friendship Card Idea Using Crafting Forever

Handmade Friendship Card Using Crafting Forever - www.Stamp4Joy.comThe charming new Crafting Forever stamp set was used to create the handmade friendship card you see here.

In fact, besides the stamp set this card idea features a couple other new items from the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  Just click here if you’d like to download your very own copy.

The delightful paper patterns can be found in the Pick a Pattern Designer Paper collection.  The name of this assortment is certainly appropriate because it has something for everyone!  One side has cute little whimsical line drawings while the other side has more generic patterns that can be used for any theme.

Directly below the focal point on this card you can see a bit of ribbon showing through. This is the new 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon in Daffodil Delight.

Hint:  I mounted both the card sentiment and the scissor image on my clear block before stamping for perfect placement.

I colored in the handles of the scissors with my Daffodil Delight Marker before cutting out the image using my Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Of course, the black scallop layer was cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits.

I picked up the layout idea for this handmade card design from the card sketch at Mojo Monday, which you can see on the left.

I was sad to hear that this is their last sketch design, as there have been many Mondays over the years where I’ve looked forward to seeing what they came up with and then turning around and using it in my own homemade card creations.  What will I do early Monday mornings now?  🙂

Memorial Day Card Idea – God Bless America

By | May 29, 2017

Memorial Day Card Idea – God Bless America

Memorial Day Card Idea - www.Stamp4Joy.comSince today is Memorial Day in the United States – where we remember all our brave Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country — I wanted to come up with a special Memorial Day card idea.

Do you recognize the image?  This was a single, special-edition stamp that Stampin’ Up! released in 2001 in remembrance of 9/11.  I’ve always loved this stamp, and I think it’s a perfect image for a Memorial Day card.  It makes great Fourth of July cards, too.

The oval shape of course came from my very favorite Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  I used the little stars I grabbed a framelit from the Sliding Star Framelits, which are retiring in just a few days.

The design layout for this handmade card came from the sketch over at Mojo Monday, which you can see on the right.

For another Memorial Day card idea click on the thumbnail sketch on the left.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day, and God Bless America!

Homemade Thank You Card Idea – Cheerful Thank You Card Design

By | May 21, 2017

Homemade Thank You Card Idea Using Daisy Delight

Homemade Thank You Card Idea Using Daisy Delight - www.Stamp4Joy.comI’m featuring Daisy Delight for today’s homemade thank you card idea. A very cool new stamp set, it will be available for purchase from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog when it goes live the beginning of June.  It seems to be one of the most popular stamp sets with our demonstrators so far.

I just love the bright and cheerful look of the navy and yellow color combination on this card design, don’t you?  The striped patterned paper is from the Floral Boutique Designer Paper collection, which unfortunately has already sold out.  I hope you were able to pick up your package before they ran out.

The adorable daisy patterned paper, however, comes from the Thanks Card Using Delightful Daisy Designer Paper - www.Stamp4Joy.comnew Delightful Daisy Designer Paper collection coming out soon.  The different patterns in this grouping are so beautiful and coordinate spectacularly with the designs in the stamp set. Click on the photo to the right to view another handmade card idea featuring more patterns from this collection.

All the stamping on this homemade thank you card idea came from this one stamp set, even the card sentiment!

I grabbed my Big Shot and the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut out the sentiment.  I cut out two labels from Night of Navy card stock, overlapping them to create the slightly larger layer underneath the card greeting.

Would you like to pick up these or some of the other new stamps and accessories FREE?  Did you know I do Facebook parties?

Contact Me for more information about hosting a Facebook party or to schedule your very own party for June, after the new catalog goes live.  Be the first among your friends to pick up your new toys for FREE!  I only have two Saturdays left in June, so grab one of them while you can!
