Thanks Card For a Friend Using Delightful Daisy Designer Paper

Thanks Card:  Delightful Daisy Designer Paper

Thanks Card Using Delightful Daisy Designer Paper - www.Stamp4Joy.comThis thanks card highlights the Delightful Daisy Designer Paper which is coming soon in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog.  I especially love the watercolor pattern you see featured here… my very favorite!

You can’t purchase purchase this paper collection until June — unless you sign up to become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator — but you’ll surely want to add it to your wish list!

I added a string of dainty little pearls along the left edge and the bottom right of the card front for a Daisy Delight Stamp Set - www.Stamp4Joy.combit more femininity.   They come already attached, so it’s easy just to lift a few of them up and move them over to attach to your card in a perfectly straight and evenly-spaced line. 🙂

The card sentiment and little daisy images that I stamped around the edge of the greeting piece both came from the coordinating stamp set Daisy Delight, a set of 16 stamps that harmonize beautifully with the paper patterns featured in the collection.  Check it out in the photo on the left.

This isn’t the first thanks card I’ve made with this stamp set… I’ll have more to show you later on, so stay tuned!

Love Greeting Card: Make a Flower Greeting Card

Love Greeting Card Using Love is Kindness

Love Greeting Card Flower Greeting Card - www.Stamp4Joy.comThis sweet love greeting card is featuring the retired stamp Love is Kindness, which you can find on my Retired Rubber Stamps page. Consisting of just a single stamp, who knew such a simple image could make such an impact and create such beautiful handmade cards?  Love it!

I’m also highlighting a couple of items that will be retiring from our catalog very soon.  The Moroccan Designer Series Paper collection is on sale, and at the time of this writing is still available while supplies last.   And I tied the summptuous Very Vanilla Stitched Satin Ribbon — which is also available only while supplies last — into a charming double bow.

I used my Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and a few alcohol markers to color in the flowers and newspaper bundle, but you could easily use your Basic Black Archival Ink Pad and some Stampin’ Write Markers to add some color, too.

Love is Kindness - blog.Stamp4Joy.comClick on the photo to the left and check out another  handmade card idea using Love is Kindness.

I’d love to hear what you think of this love greeting card.  Please leave me a comment.  🙂

Homemade Thank You Card Idea Using Floral Boutique

By | May 1, 2017

Homemade Thank You Card Idea

Homemade Thank You Card Idea - www.Stamp4Joy.comThis simple homemade thank you card idea relies heavily on a number of the patterns included in the Floral Boutique Designer Paper collection. It’s being retired, and I’m surprised that this beautiful paper collection is still available.  It probably won’t be for long, though!

The beauty about our designer paper collections are all the patterns that are included work pretty seamlessly together.  And with the pages being double-sided there’s many options to choose from.

The only stamping on this handmade card is the thank you card sentiment from the One Big Meaning stamp set, which comes in wood-mount and clear-mount.  It’s a must have if you make a lot of thank you cards, and who can’t use a lot more thank you cards?

Handmade Birthday Card for Laurie - blog.Stamp4Joy.comThe lush double bow was created with the 5/8″ Organza Ribbon, which is no longer available. 🙁

This is the last month to pick up those retiring items you have your eyes on.  It’s only while supplies last, so be sure to grab them while you can.

This patterned paper collection can be use for more than just a handmade thank you card idea.  Click on the photo on the left to see a birthday card design.

Handmade Christmas Card Design for Christmas Card Sunday

Handmade Christmas Card Design for Christmas Card Sunday

Handmade Christmas Card Design for Christmas Card Sunday - www.Stamp4Joy.comIt’s Christmas Card Sunday, and today’s handmade Christmas card design is featuring the soon-to-be-retired stamp set Snow Place.  This set is only guaranteed to be available for a few more weeks (until May 22nd) so if you’ve had your eye on it you’ll want to pick it up soon.

I also grabbed some retired designer paper from my paper stash, Candy Cane Lane.  This is a fun set of holiday paper patterns, and for the first three people who place an order of $50 or more in my Online Store before Wednesday, May 3rd, I’ll send you six card-size samples of this super cute paper absolutely FREE!  Just place your order in my online store at and use the Hostess Code CA22UHJM.  Your order will be shipped directly to your door!

NOTE:  If your order totals $150 don’t use the Hostess Code and you’ll also receive Hostess Benefits, too! 🙂

I tried to wrap the card sentiment in a curved pattern, but as you can see, one end kind of “popped” back up right before I stamped it.  But in keeping with the card theme, I decided to “chill” and just let it go.  I stamped the Santa hat in Real Red inkand then cut it out using my handy, dandy Paper Snips.  You’ll also see a bit of retired Real Red ribbon peeking out from beneath the layers on the card front.

Funny Christmas Cards - blog.Stamp4Joy.comI used my Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (my favorite!!!) to cut out the snowman circle, and then mounted it onto a Real Red scallop piece that I cut out using the Layering Circles Framelits.

Click on the photo to the left for another sample using this stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed this handmade Christmas card design for today’s Christmas Card Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.

Clean and Simple Card Idea For Him: Architecture

Clean and Simple Card Idea For Him

Clean and Simple Card Idea For Him - www.Stamp4Joy.comThis clean and simple card idea would work well as a masculine card, and features the retiring stamp set Everyday Hero.

This adorable set is only guaranteed to be available until May 22nd, after that it’s while supplies last.   It can make the cutest comic book style cards… kids will love it!

I stamped the cityscape in Basic Black Archival Ink onto a strip of Watercolor Paper that I had previously cut to the size I wanted.  Then I took a long and narrow acrylic block and applied swashes of color using some markers from the Brights Stampin’ Write Markers collection:  Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise.  I spritzed inked-up block with some water and then laid my stamped watercolor paper onto it to pick up the ink.

Everyday Hero Superhero Card - www.Stamp4Joy.comThe Basic Black and Basic Gray Archival Ink pads are what you want to use when watercoloring your images or using your markers to color in.  It’s formulated specially for that purpose so that it won’t bleed when wet.

The white background was created using my Big Shot and the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.  The sentiment fit perfectly on one of the “bricks.”

Making Paper Flowers for Your Handmade Card Ideas

Making Paper Flowers for Your Handmade Card Ideas

Making Paper Flowers for Handmade Thank You Card - www.Stamp4Joy.comMaking paper flowers is easy with the retiring framelits, Botanical Builder.  I’m so sad to see these go because they are so versatile and make creating paper flowers for your handmade card ideas super easy!

This handmade card idea started off in a completely different direction and didn’t even have flowers on it.   I had a few of these flowers on my craft space from a project I made a few days ago, and before I knew it my whole project had changed!  Have you ever had that happen to you? 🙂 But who doesn’t love flowers?   And I’m so very pleased with the final card.  I added just a few rhinestones to the flower centers for a little extra dazzle!

I used another retiring product on this card design… a pattern from the Falling in Love Designer Paper — but it  has already sold out.

You can see some of the delicate Very Vanilla Lace Trim just barely peeking out from underneath the card sentiment layer.

How to Conserve Your Card Stock When PapercraftingOf course, the dramatic card sentiment really catches your eye here.  It comes from the One Big Meaning stamp set, which you can pick up in wood-mount or clear mount.  I embossed it in white on the black card stock for a very bold look.

TIP:  The greeting layer actually was cut out from the piece I mounted the patterned paper on using my Stampin’ Trimmer. You can do this by cutting all along the inside about 1/4″ or 1/2″ from each edge.  This can really help you stretch your card stock (and dollars) when papercrafting!

If you’re interested in making paper flowers for your projects be sure to pick up the Botanical Builder Framelits before they’re gone.  Remember, they’re HALF OFF!

Happy Easter: Handmade Easter Card Using Owl Builder Punch

By | April 16, 2017

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Handmade Easter Card Using Owl Builder Punch - www.Stamp4Joy.comI just wanted to drop you a quick note to wish you a Happy Easter! While I’m at it, I thought I’d show you a quick handmade Easter card.

I used the Owl Builder Punch to create both of the little paper punch art chicks plus their “eggs.”  Using my Paper Snips I cut off the feet and ears from the punched-out owls and eggshells, and for the designer paper shells I made diagonal cuts across the centers to create the cracked and broken edges.

All pieces of the little chicks are from the Owl Builder Punch, I just punched them out of scraps of different colored card stock and then paper pieced them together.  A little sponging around the edges of the chicks give them some dimension, along with using Stampin’ Dimensionals to make them pop off the card a bit.  The eggshells were punched from a couple of the patterns included in the Festive Birthday Designer Paper collection.

The Easter card sentiment was stamped in Crushed Curry ink and created using a couple of the words from the Crazy About You stamp set (wood-mount, clear-mount, or photopolymer), which is retiring soon.  So many stamps — 33! — to create a boatload of customized greetings.

Thanks for checking in, and I hope you have a wonderful and happy Easter with your family and friends.

Paper Flowers Birthday Card for Niece

By | April 15, 2017

Making Paper Flowers Birthday Card Using Botanical Builders

Paper Flowers Birthday Card - www.Stamp4Joy.comI love how this paper flowers birthday card is just bursting with bright and cheerful blossoms!

The paper flowers and greenery were all created using the Big Shot and Botanical Builders Framelits Dies.  I just cannot believe these will be retiring soon, but that means you’re in luck because you can pick them up at 50% off while they’re still available.  Wow!  Of course, these dies coordinate beautifully with the retiring stamp set Botanical Blooms, which is also on sale.

Many of our retiring framelits dies are being sold at a discount, so be sure to check out all of our retiring products in my store at because when they’re gone, they’re gone!

The paper flowers and leaves were sponged around the edges to give a little dimension using either the same color as the card stock or a slightly different shade.  A rhinestone jewel was added to the center of each of the flowers for some sparkle.

I pulled the card sentiment from a retiring stamp set, Flower Patch.   It was stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and then cut it out using my Big Shot and an oval shape from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The designer paper I used to create the background for this bunch of flower blooms came from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Paper collection, which is also retiring.  You can pick up this awesome assortment of beautiful patterns while supplies last at 40% off.

Homemade Wedding Cards - www.Stamp4Joy.comThe colors used for this handmade birthday card are Basic Black, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Emerald Envy.  Tangerine Tango ink was sponged around the Pumpkin Pie flowers and Crushed Curry ink was used to sponge the Daffodile delight blossoms. Everything else was sponged using the same color ink as the card stock.  I hope my niece enjoys this bright and cheerful paper flowers birthday card!

If you’d like to see another example using these framelits, click on the photo to the right.

New Baby Card Idea: Handmade Baby Girl Card Design Using Baby Bear

By | April 12, 2017

New Baby Card for Baby Girl

New Baby Card For Baby Girl - www.Stamp4Joy.comI needed a new baby card idea for an attorney I work with who just had a beautiful baby girl.  I’ve only been designing baby boy cards lately, so I wanted to come up with a “sugar & spice and everything nice” card for a sweet little newborn girl.   🙂  Of course, just changing out the color of the bow, ribbon, and other accessories makes all the difference.

Baby Bear was my stamp set of choice. Using the two- or three-step stamps you can create exquisitely detailed images.   This adorable little teddy bear was created using Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, and Early Espresso inks, and looks soft enough to touch!

HINT:  Did you know you can buy our Classic ink pads in collections and save over 15% than if you bought them individually?  Your options are:  Neutrals CollectionRegals CollectionBrights CollectionSubtles CollectionIn Color 2015-2017 CollectionIn Color 2016-2018 Collection.

I decided to go with a brown background to coordinate with the cute and cuddly teddy bear.  The lighthearted Early Espresso polka dot designer paper creates a pleasing and interesting background.  It’s part of the Neutrals Designer Paper Stack, which consists of 40 double-sided 12″ x 12″ sheets of a variety of patterns in ten different colors.

I chose a Blushing Bride Ribbon from my retired ribbon stash to coordinate with the Blushing Bride paper bow that I stamped and then cut out using my Paper Snips.  A few Blushing Bride Enamel Shapes were added to the card sentiment as a final touch.

Here’s a look at the color combination I used for this card:

By | April 10, 2017

Birthday Card for Him Using Urban Underground

Birthday Card for Him Urban Underground - www.Stamp4Joy.comTo make this birthday card for him all you need is a bold birthday card sentiment and some masculine designer paper. It’s a very clean and simple card idea that you can put together quite easily.

Combining a foolproof selection of patterns using neutral coordinating colors of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Delightful Dijon, Silver, and Very Vanilla, it’s the ideal lineup to have on hand for designing beautiful handmade cards for all of the men in your life.

Bump up the boldness of your handmade masculine cards with these first-rate industrial embellishments from the Urban Underground Embellishments collection.  You just can’t go wrong with this striking set of manly doodads.  🙂  I love ’em!  Just adding a few can really make a powerful statement, don’t you think?

Make a Christmas Card: Vintage Holiday Card For Christmas Card Sunday

By | April 9, 2017

Make a Christmas Card:  It’s Christmas Card Sunday!

Make a Christmas Card - www.Stamp4Joy.comI know, I know, it’s barely spring and I’m already telling you to make a Christmas card! 😉  Here we call it Christmas Card Sunday because I devote most Sundays to holiday card making.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to sit down and crank out 50 or 100 cards all at once.  And I certainly don’t want to end up short in November, so I work on them throughout the year.

If you’re like me, you might want to give some thought to making your Christmas cards little by little… you’ll be surprised how many you’ll have completed when the holidays roll around!  And be sure to check back here each Sunday because I try to design beautiful Christmas cards that will inspire you, too!

The warm, muted colors evokes a nostalgic feeling on this handmade card design.

The stamp set featured here is A Wish For Peace.  It’s retired now, but you can find it on my Retired Rubber Stamps page under the wood-mount stamp sets that are listed for sale. There are three beautifully detailed stamps in the set, including the card sentiment.  You can see all the images in the photo shown on the left.

I stamped the focal image in Early Espresso ink, and then cut it out using my Big Shot and the Stitched Framelits Dies.  I sponged around that and the greeting piece in Early Espresso ink to give them more of an aged look, then glued them onto the Early Espresso card stock layers before attaching to the card front.

The designer paper patterns are from the retired Deck the Halls collection.  A bit of lace trim adds some nice texture, and a rustic wooden snowflake was affixed in the corner with a Metal Rimmed Pearl positioned over the middle for a final touch.

Why not make a Christmas card today?  It’s never too early to start.  And be sure to check out my Retired Rubber Stamps page, where you’ll find many beautiful stamp sets for any occasion.
